The event is the annual celebration by Bikuni Shrine to pray for safety at the sea and for big catches. The highlight is Tengu-no-Hikuguri, which takes place over a flame. Every year, many visitors come and see this fantastic shrine rite for purity. During the daytime, portable shrines and floats parade through the town while fishing boats go around the Port of Bikuni with fishermen’s big-catch flags.
