Chitose Air Festival, which had about 43,000 visitors in 2015, will be taking place in 2016, too. Chitose Air Base, the venue, is adjacent to New Chitose Airport, so the festival is easy to access attracting visitors from all over Japan. With the 2nd Air Wing deployed, a B-747-400, one of the Japanese government exclusive aircrafts, and F-15s will engage in an exhibition flight. The air festival is the only one that allows people to see the B-747-400 up close.
