Susukino Festival is a summer festival grown from several festivals in adjacent areas. One of the highlights of this event is the procession of courtesans (oiran) played by citizens selected from among applicants. Various restaurants set up about 100 street stalls on the car-free venue and serve their dishes to visitors. Don’t miss Japanese traditional festive music and dances as well as the seven portable shrines carried by more than 1000 people.
